DIETER LAU
Dieter Lau is an award-winning photographer working in both traditional and experimental photographic methods. He is best known for his innovative approach to three-dimensional design, transforming reality into imaginative, fantasy-inspired compositions.
His artistic journey began in Berlin, Germany, where he worked as an architectural contractor before relocating to the United States in 2000. During his career in architecture and real estate visualization, he also created 3-D floor plans for real estate agents, further developing his understanding of spatial design, structure, and perspective. This foundation fostered a strong appreciation for historical architecture, with a particular sensitivity to line, form, and composition—elements he now uses to reinterpret the built environment in his photography.
Another area of focus for Lau is motorcycle photography. Through digital tools and creative post-processing techniques, he transforms mechanical subjects into dynamic, painterly works that elevate them into fine art.
Lau began his photographic career working in traditional color photography on glossy print media before transitioning to large-scale presentations on canvas and aluminum. His work is available in limited editions and custom sizes.
He currently resides in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Judy Saltzman, where the surrounding environment continues to serve as an ongoing source of inspiration.
